Evaluation Question 6

Evaluation Question 6

What have you learnt about technologies in the process of constructing this film?

Planning and Research
We used an Iphone 4 as a digital still camera to take pictures of our plans as evidence and to take location shots of where we wanted to film.
We used internet search engines such as Google to help research our film genre and find similar films, we also used the website Youtube for this as to watch trailers and clips for films.
Facebook was also used so Me, Matt, Billy and Jimmy could communicate and organise filiming days and times.

Production
The main technology used for production is the digital video camera, we used a Canon with an SD card. This was to record all of our shots. We also used a micro phone for this as the video camera could not record sound well enough on its own although not much diagetic sound is used during our scene, we used it to record sounds of the tap and twigs snapping whilst the boys were running.
We once again used a smartphone for a digital still camera to take shots of us recording as evidence it was our own work.

Post Production
Premeire Pro V6 was the editing programme we used to cut, shorten and overlay shots, we also have used the video effect 'Additive Dissolve' to show Matt's panic and confusion when he had got home. It was also used as a tempory font for the title of the film 'It Never Happened'.
Illustrator was used to make the 'Trouble Production' logo by drawing a digital copy of the original hand drawn image.
Blogger has been a key post-production internet tool as this is where we have documented and provided evidence of our production.

Evaluation
Google has been the key internet tool as through this we have used the site IMBD to reasearch further films that relate to ours. Google images was used for gaining images to upload to the evaluation.

Evaluation Question 5

Evaluation Question 5
How did you attract/address your audience?

Throughout our opening scene we aim attract audeinces to watch the full film. This is why we chose the opening shot to be of a dead body as this should hopefully get them interested immediately as they will want to find out more about the body. They should then further be interested with the quick flashforwards of the hands being washed this then suggests the person laying on the floor has been murdered. 'Morven Callar' is similar to ours starting off with a dead body on the floor. There is then a quick cut to action of the two boys running away from the crime scene. At this point the audience should be able to tell that these two boys have murdered the boy in the woods this is why they are running. A this scene seems to be the main plot twist the audience should be interested as what will happen next, and how the boys will deal with this. It is key that the begining of our film draws in the audeince as the film is most likely to be seen by the first time on BBC three and it is important that the viewers stay not simply change the channel.
The fact that it has two teenage boys as the main stars should attract a lot of younger viewers as they will be able to relate to the characters as they are just two average boys that make a mistake.

Evaluation Question 4

Evaluation Question 4

Who would be the audience for your media product?

We believe that our audience would be a targeted towards a largely male, young adult/teenage demographic. The ethnicity of the viewer will not be specifically targeted towards but if any they would most likely be white English due to the cast of the film. Viewers will mostly be working/middle class and view the films with friends or Dads; it will not be appealing toward mothers. Viewers will not have to be highly educated as the film should be easy to understand and will not require the viewers to think a lot. They will however have to be able to understand what is going on and remember, as the film will cut back and forward in time. At first the film would difficult to access and will only be released at Art-house (such as the Cambridge picture house) and a few mainstream cinemas (In selected Cineworlds). Eventually it will be released onto DVD and should be a lot easier to gain access and it will then be shown on channels such as BBC three. An example of a film similar to ours is Kidulthood as it is targeted towards a similar audience and was accessed the same way ours (only 41 cinemas across the UK) will as well as television programmes such as Skins and Misfits.
